… Mom and Dad met in the mid-1950’s at Ste. Anne’s in Southwest Detroit. Mom went to the CYO dance hoping to find someone to dance with. Instead of finding a dance partner, she found Rosendo,a dark-skinned Mexican boy from the neighborhood, known as Roy to his friends. With his toothy, wide grin and lanky teenage arms, Vivienne was smitten. (Roy was, too.)
